I've Been Tagged by Holly! How To Play This Game of Tag: Post these rules on your blog. List: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 random surprising facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog!

JOYS:
  1. Anything having to do with Adam.
  2. The alarm clock going off really early on a day it didn't need to...and then realizing it and going back to sleep.
  3. Silly little things like a compliment, new stuff (office supplies, shoes, toothpaste, etc.), and unexpected surprises.

FEARS:

  1. Dying before I get married.
  2. Birds...I despise them.
  3. Dark windows.

GOALS:

  1. Graduating with degree #1. Getting into grad. school and earning degree #2. Both are to achieve the greater goal of doing medical humanitarian work in third world countries.
  2. Get back into the shape I was in through high school and freshman year of college.
  3. Buy a car.

CURRENT OBSESSIONS/COLLECTIONS:

  1. I have various seasons of various sitcoms on DVD...I always have to have background noise (studying, sleeping, etc.) and they do the job nicely.
  2. I suppose you could say I collect jobs. If I find one I like, whether I need it or not, I snatch it up. I have four and am working on gaining the fifth...being a student would make it 6.
  3. I have difficulty holding still. If I'm in a situation where I am supposed to be sitting still, I rock, make noise, or fidget with my hands, rings, clothing etc.

3 RANDOM SURPRISING FACTS:

  1. I hate school, especially science, but I suppose I'm masochistic in a way because my major is all science and I still have four years (total) of school left.
  2. I'm extremely accident prone...always have been.
  3. I like buying/owning shoes but don't like wearing them. I usually wear flip-flops and am barefoot whenever possible.
  4. I love my parents piano and my guitar, Li'l Johnny. Playing music is my absolute favorite pasttime.
*I did four of them because I couldn't think of anything really good...I'm pretty boring I guess.

...Aliese, Amy, Carlye, Kelli & Sadie...consider yourselves tagged.

Crazy night

I just got home from an interesting night. I got off work at about 8 pm and went to hang out with Adam around 8:30. Around 9, we (Adam, his mom, his step-dad, and me) heard sirens and the family dog was howling and barking...not so much at the sirens, but in general for about 5 minutes. It was strangely ominous for everybody. Minutes later, a girl called to inform the family that the youngest of the four brothers had been in a motorcycle accident. Adam and I were in another room watching the Jazz game when the phone rang. Before the telephone was even answered, Adam said his brother had been in a motorcycle accident. This was confirmed seconds later when his mother informed us of the awful truth. We immediately left for the hospital. We were sent to IMC who told us he was redirected to the University hospital (due to the degree of trauma) who told us he was in critical condition at IMC who told us he was stable at Jordan Valley. Two hours later, we located brother 4 and were thrilled to discover his relative safety. Adam's brother was cut off by a car forcing him to lay down his bike. Upon impact, his helmet flew off and his face and body were dragged across the asphalt while his passenger lay on him like as though he were a sled. The helmet incident was a misfortune resulting in stitches and staples and a lot of wound debriedment (now, a fairly gored bloke). However, had he not been wearing a helmet, or had it fallen off before the impact, the results would have been far more grim. The doctors were surprised he didn't break/fracture any bones and were shocked at his lack of concussion. He was really lucky. It was a night of hysterics and high-strung emotions (my favorite environment). We were all so glad he was safe. Things could have been much worse.

Birthday Fun Slideshow

Birthday Fun

My 22nd birthday was on Sunday. Adam took me to Trio and the musical The Producers on Friday...my fake birthday...since we couldn't really go anywhere on Sunday. Saturday, we had some laid back fun and watched some boxing with Adam's family. Sunday, I opened presents from my family before church. Jacob got me Tommy Boy, Natalie got me a blue and white shirt, and the parents got me a shirt, the tenth season of Friends, the movie The Trouble With Angels, black pumps, and another set of my dishes. Aliese and Darrin gave me emerald earrings a few weeks ago. At church, I taught my seven and eight year olds and got some cookie mix from the primary presidency. After church, Adam gave more presents...a season of Gilmore Girls and a shirt. The parents made me my birthday dinner and I did the traditional cake and candles bit. Later that night, Adam's mom gave me a shirt and a jacket. All in all, it was a pretty good birthday weekend. The pictures above are of birthday fun. My mom was particularly jazzed about the faces I made while she took pictures...note the sarcasm.

Fighting Crime

So, last night as I was about to leave Adam's house I spotted a theif/vandal (aka dirty rat) outside lingering around Adam's car and his little brother's car. He was large in stature and looked rather shady. He was peeking in the windows and fidling with the doors. It was also pretty late at night/early in the morning so he was certainly up to no good. I managed to scare him away though. I'm pretty proud of myself. Now I wish I would've called the police though. Oh well, hind sight, right.

Completely unrelated, a new, weird symbol appeared on my cell phone's screen today. You know the symbols at the top? There are often symbols for service, battery levels, missed messages, etc. Well, today, a new one just showed up. It's never been there before and I don't know what it means. It's just this grumpy face. Odd.
