Yesterday was my birthday. I love it when it's my bithday. It was wonderful. Twenty-five seems big. Not old. But it's big. It's a quarter century. That's gotta count for something, right?
I had a great birthday. My last final was the night before my birthday and I've been ignoring my pile of projects because I needed to focus on school and such. Now that I'm done for a second, I got cracking. I spent the morning with captain crunch, netflix, and cutting out patterns. It was a good morning. I made a few things for the nursery. And I'm ready to make more.
When Adam got home from work, he and I drove to Perry for some Maddox. We love Maddox and since our weekend is going to be too packed, we went yesterday. Worth it. Plus, I love long drives with AK. It's a chatter fest. I got to talk his ear off for almost 3 hours. He loves being trapped in car with me, I think.
He got me some great gifts. I'm most excited to go to Rent with him in June. He got me 2 tickets for my birthday. He's not such a fan of musicals but he's a good sport and knows I like them. Score. I'm living the dream...aside from the painful hips and right ribs.
The best part about birthdays is they're never limited to just one day. At least not at my house. So it'll continue to be my birthday for a few more days. I'm totally going to milk it.

Our Baby GIRL!
On Thursday, we got to see our baby daughter (yup, we're having a girl!). Ultrasounds are so cool. Even if it means holding your pee until it hurts. Worth it.
Her cute little feet.

I've already bought fabric for her nursery and a pattern for her blessing dress which I'm going to make out of some leftover fabric from my wedding dress. We're getting so excited to meet our baby girl!
We thinks she's pretty cute.

Halfway
The past 20 weeks have gone by surprisingly fast. The 2 1/2 months of vomiting seemed to really drag on, but I can't believe I'm already halfway done being pregnant (theoretically). I'll post a picture soon.
Most of my jeans still fit but my shirts are getting pretty tight. I'm looking more pregnant than just chubby. Last Saturday, Adam and I went for our usual morning swim. Partway through my breaststroke set, I felt Baby Kay. I stopped Adam to tell him. He was excited and wanted to feel it. But it's too soon for that. So far, that's the only time I have definitely felt our baby move. It's pretty exciting.
We also spent part of the weekend working on the nursery. Our townhome is pretty big. The baby's room hasn't really gotten much use or attention. It currently houses an electric organ (think old lady's house) which my mom's friend gave us. We are planning to get rid of it. If you know anyone who wants an organ, they can have ours for free. Otherwise, it's going to the DI toot sweet. It's time to make room for baby furniture. We also were keeping our winter stuff, ski gear, and some camping stuff in Baby Kay's closet. That all got sorted out and some was sent to the basement in totes.
We are keeping a long list of baby names on a white board in our kitchen. Our favorites change in and out so fast. It's kind of unnerving. Hopefully when we meet our baby, we'll know what name to go with.
I have an ultrasound and an appointment on Thursday and I'm sure I'll have more to blog about at that point. For now, here's to hoping the next 20 weeks go by quickly and smoothly.

Spring Break
I'm a little late on blogging about this...so what else is new.
We went to California with Brittany and Kody. It was pretty much the worst trip ever. Ok it wasn't. Luckily we have good friends because we did not have good weather. Seriously, the weather was ridiculous. But I think we did a good job making the most of it.
We stayed in Santa Barbara with Brittany's grandma for 3 days. On the last day, the weather was good enough to get out. So we checked out Solvang and the beach.
Then we drove to San Francisco where we stayed for 3 days. We drove up the coast, rather than the fast way. Bad idea for a car sick preggo. I got sick. Shocker. So we found our way back to the main freeway and took that the rest of the way.
We only got a few hours of good weather in San Francisco. This was spent in China Town. We were kinda hijacked by a guy named, Jackie Chan Number Two. He made us follow him around and told us bizzare stories. It was pretty sweet. Then we got sick of him and ditched him at a store.
We drove to the bay bridge in crazy, hard rain. We got out just long enough to get a picture, and ran back to the car. Another car load of people applauded our speed.
We went to the park and to the seven sisters which is supposed to be the street the Full House house is on. I can't guarantee that we saw it, but it's a possibility. We also got to look at Alcatraz from afar, since we couldn't go take the tour...crappy rain.
We drove home over Donner's Pass past Lake Tahoe. I-80 was closed and we had to wait a few hours. We also had to purchase snow chains. Now, we are awesome at putting them on and taking them off though. We were even offered money for our services (I didn't feel good about taking it though). While I used the restroom on the east of Lake Tahoe. The others managed to sell our chains and even made a tiny profit. We stopped in Reno to eat a whole bunch of food. Adam ate his weight in crab and prime rib at a buffet. Then we drove on. I had the misfortune of vomiting in the rain standing barefoot in mud. That was a real low point for me. The drive was about 21 hours long. We got home at 7 am. That last bit was really crappy but it was worth it to get to sleep in our own beds. Home sweet home. It was a cold, wet, driving packed trip. Frankly, it was kind of a disappointment. But luckily we were there with good sports and we managed to have a really good time in the record breaking, flood causing torrential rain that was our Spring Break.
